Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Hi, I am Rutujeet Nayak, a designer from Pune, currently studying at MIT Institute of Design, Pune.
I have always been fascinated by people. Our habits, contradictions, instincts, and the strange things that make us who we are.
I approach design through that curiosity. I like observing before assuming, questioning before solving, and looking for the human story behind a problem. The interface is only what we see; what interests me is everything underneath it, the motivations, emotions, behaviours, and moments that shape how we experience the world.
For me, design is less about having all the answers and more about being curious enough to keep asking better questions.
It is just amazing when a game that is so beautiful is also so challenging.
The use of shadows, lighting and colour to portray emotions and a story is a cinematic marvel.
It is just three simple ingredients, but technique goes a long way. And day old rice, of course.
Apart from getting me to places, it also helps me get my mind off things.
Led the design of an AI fashion shopping assistant that answers whether you should actually buy what is in front of you, weighing occasion, fit, budget and weather against what is already in your wardrobe. Designed and prototyped 40+ screens in Figma around trust, context and leaving the decision with the user.
Ran front desk operations, from check-ins to room allocation and occupancy. Prepared the daily cash summary across the restaurant, permit room, café and online platforms, kept excise stock records up to date, and helped set up banquet events. Also designed the banquet poster end to end, five feet by two, which lifted banquet hall sales by 15%.
Started and ran a campaign that raised ₹36,500 through digital outreach and community support for orphaned children in Georai, in Maharashtra's Beed district.
End-to-end projects across service design, object-oriented UX, conversational AI, semiotics and design management, most of them researched in the field with the people they are for.
